Second purchase of the Dark Lochnagar roasted coffee beans & Ground also loose tea (not tried yet) Highly recommend this coffee! As I couldn t travel out to Ballater shop from Aberdeen before Xmas I used online shop. Will definitely use this very efficient local service again & my order arrived just in time for Christmas which I didn t expect with the postal strikes so hats off to Roaring Stag coffee for sending out as soon as order placed! An exceptionally fine coffee with hints of red berries, good body and dark chocolate finish. This is very similar to the Lochnagar Coffee but it's been roasted slightly longer. For those who like a dark roast

A dark roast which I suspect goes to or almost to 2nd crack. i drink it as a cappucino, and a sprinkle of chocolate on top really compliments the coffee. Others have had it as Americano liked it too

We've tried a fair few coffees in our search for the perfect taste of a good strong coffee to wake you up with your first coffee in the morning, or give you a lift mid-morning at the end of a long week. Dark Lochnagar is the best falvoured strong coffee we've found so far. Not only can you make a strong flavour packed coffee to wake you up, or pick you up, but it's also oh so good to enjoy whenever you want that flavour packed cup of coffee. It has become our default roast to go in our bean to cup machine.

Amazing coffee, intense and robust flavour. Next time I order I will request a box for delivery, as when my bag was removed from the packaging, the bag was split down the side. Cue comedy moment of standing in the kitchen with beans all over the floor. Rescued most and so worth it. Not a criticism re the packaging, I was just unfortunate. Thanks guys.

Happiness is Dark Lochnagar Roast

May 2019 we visited the shop in Ballater in search of coffee to replace an Illy brand that had been discontinued. This was not our first attempt to find a supplier of a suitable replacement but our first encounter that prompted us to buy from Roaring Stag was Lochnagar Roast. This continued for a number of months until I noticed Dark Lochnagar Roast on the website. Bought a pack of ground beans, bought some more then decided I should bring the Gaggia coffee grinder out of retirement to see how the coffee varies with different grinds. Long story short, we have been buying whole beans for umpteen months and will not entertain an alternative. Long may the Dark Lochnagar Roast continue.

Full bodied and satisfying

I love this coffee. I'm fond of a strong coffee while I work and this one hits the mark. It has a full bodied flavour but doesn't carry over to much bitterness which you might think it would from the aroma after grinding the beans. It also holds this flavour for quite some time after grinding, which allows it to be pre-ground and stored in an air tight container for the next couple of weeks.
